Summit Lake Trail

Summit Lake Trail- This 3 mile out and back trail is perfect for the whole family. You will meander through beautiful fields of wildflowers and wander over slabs of granite. The lake is shallow and is lined with lots of vegetation and large trees making you feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle of Interstate 80. 

Difficulty-Moderate

Directions- Park at the PCT trailhead on I80 Donner Summit near Boreal Ski Resort, walk on the PCT for approximately 1 mile (you will walk under I80 through a dark culvert which adds to the excitement, turn right at the intersection and follow signs to Summit Lake, once you reach the intersection for Donner Lake Rim trail and Summit Lake, follow signs to Summit Lake.
