Trail Description.
This hidden gem can be accessed by bike from the Hole in the Ground trail or by foot using the PCT over Castle pass down into Round Valley. 

Difficulty.
Moderate for hiking due distance. Moderate for mountain biking but difficult at times due to some challenging rock obstacles along the Hole in the Ground trail.

Directions to Trailhead.
To Hike via the PCT: From the intersection of I-80, park at PCT trailhead near the Boreal ski resort. Follow the pct to the Peter Grub hut and into round valley. Once you pass the Peter Grub hut (about a 1/4 mile) you will see an intersection and trail sign labeled Sandridge Lake and Hole in the Ground trail and an arrow pointing to the left. Follow the Hole in the Ground Trail for a couple of miles, you will see another spurt trail off to your left. 

To Bike via Hole in the Ground trail: Start by parking just off of I-80, near the Castle Valley road turn off. Across from the Boreal Ski resort. You can park anywhere near the gate and bike to the start of the Hole in the Ground Trail. When biking, the Sandridge Lake trail shares the hole in the ground trail for a short while. you will see an intersection just after a steep climb. The lake is about 1/4 mile on the spur trail to the left.
