Pines to Mines

Pines to Mines Trail

Partnering together, Truckee Trails Foundation, United States Forest Service, Nevada County, Bear Yuba Land Trust, and Bicyclists of Nevada County, have been working to realize the dream of a long-distance trail connecting both ends of Nevada County with stunning, adventuresome singletrack. With an alignment now in place and resource studies complete, the team is gearing up to break ground on this epic trail in 2024.

The Pines to Mines trail is envisioned to be a multi-use native surface trail system connecting Truckee, CA to Nevada City, CA. The system will be approximately 72 miles in length and will include 50 miles of existing Forest Service trails, as well as 22 miles of new trail construction between Hole in the Ground and Grouse Ridge trails.

The project area lies within the Tahoe National Forest and in Nevada County between the towns of Nevada City, CA  and Truckee, CA along Highway 20 and north of Interstate Highway I-80.
