In partnership with Visit Truckee Tahoe and the US Forest Service, the Truckee Trails Foundation has hired three seasonal trail hosts, part of a pilot program to encourage proper trail stewardship in the region. Also joining forces with the Tahoe Fund’s Take Care Tahoe Trail Ambassador program, our team in the Truckee Ranger District will be roving local trails to greet and chat with visitors, spread stewardship messaging, and watch for illegal campfires. This is a pilot program that, if successful, will hopefully be continued into the future to help protect our trails and our community while also spreading a positive, welcoming message to our visitors. Trail Ambassadors can be identified by their Take Care Tahoe uniforms. Give them a shout out if you see them on the trail – they are performing a great service to our community.
