With warmer days ahead here in the Truckee/Tahoe region, our 2023 trail development and maintenance plan has been approved by the board, and we’re ready to go. We just need your help to ensure that we can fund all of the great projects in the plan.
Let’s talk about the Sawtooth Trail Network where the plan this year is for new trails to expand and integrate the growing walk, hike, run, and ride dirt trail system. Can you imagine how great this is going to be?
There are over 180 miles of non-motorized trails (and growing) in the Truckee/Tahoe region, most maintained by Truckee Trails Foundation. With the record snowfall and storms throughout the season, we’re expecting a massive cleanup effort this year.
Will you help us take the next step this year? In addition to the maintenance work, and new trails in the Sawtooth Network, your online donation also funds a connector from the Sawtooth trails and Sierra Meadows to the Legacy Trail and (likely) ground breaking on the Pines to Mines trail this year.
One more thing — if you’re able to make a monthly donation of $25 or more you’ll qualify to take the Spring Trail Tour. I’ll be leading an exclusive in-person Spring Trail Tour and Q&A. You’ll get an on-the-ground, inside look at TTF’s trail development, see firsthand how trails are designed and built, and experience Truckee/Tahoe’s trail system through the eyes of a trail expert.
