Get outside, do good, and meet new friends. You’ll dig and haul, rake and clear, and, more generally, be a real part of building new trails and reshaping existing routes. Together, we’ll get dirty, do big things, and finish it all off with a cold beer. If that sounds like a good day out on the trail to you, register now.

A Few Things to Know

• Location: You will be working on one or more trails in the Sawtooth Trail Network in Truckee. If you aren’t familiar with this trail network, here is more info. Participants will receive a detailed meetup location after registration, so please register today.
• Clothing: We recommend that you wear pants, comfortable trail shoes, a hat (for sun protection), eye protection (sunglasses are ok), and a lightweight shirt with a second removable layer for the morning when temps can be cooler.
• Gloves and Tools: Optionally, consider bringing your favorite work gloves and yard tools such as a rake or shovel. But, don’t worry, we have both available, along with hard hats, if you opt not to bring your own.
• Snacks/Water … Beer: We supply snacks and water during the work window and cold beers to celebrate a solid day of trail work after we finish. Please plan to bring you own lunch – we have plenty of break time to enjoy it out on the trail.
• Test Runs: For this volunteer day we’ll be working primarily on mountain bike routes so bring your trail-friendly bike and take a few runs to test out your team’s trail work.
• Trail Work: You’ll be building new trail section(s) and/or repairing existing trails with all work in the same location within the Sawtooth Trail Network.
• Kids: Well-behaved children aged 12 and up may participate in trail work with or without their parents. Either way, parents are asked to sign a waiver on behalf of their child at the beginning of the day. Children under 12 years old are not eligible for this particular trail day.
